Slate of candidates as of Nov 4:

President:

George Wagner: I'm George Wagner and am running for a second term as CWNA president. My wife, Barb Rasman, and I have lived on the corner of Hartford and Newhall for 40 years. I've been on the association board for about 20 years. Before I retired I was a librarian, and mostly worked at Central Library Humanities. I'm very fond of our neighborhood, its history and its residents. I helped initiate the evening Trick or Treat last year, and lead a Jane's Walk of the neighborhood each spring. It's been inspiring to work with board members who have been more than willing to take on much of the association's work.

Secretary:

Jeanne Dawson: My name is Jeanne Dawson and I have been a homeowner in Cambridge Woods for 20 years.  I've been on the board as a member at-large for 4 years and as Secretary for 2 years.  Some initiatives I have worked on were the CWNA website, Black Lives Matter to Cambridge Woods, Traffic Circle Savers, and Chili Fest.I love our neighborhood.  I want to continue serving on the board to address problems and to help keep our neighbors connected.

At-Large Director (5 positions):

Lisa Koneazny: I’m Lisa Koneazny and I am seeking another term as a member at large for the CWNA board. I’ve been an east side resident for most of my adult life. Over 20 years ago, my husband Pete and I intentionally moved to our home on Newhall.  We wanted to be near the river and the bike path. Those perks brought us wonderful neighbors and community.  My focus areas have been with chili fest (I know most of your porch steps from flyer distribution), the ice cream social and now the annual night time trick or treating. In addition to the CWNA social events, I’ve enjoyed engaging with other neighborhood groups as concerns and actions are addressed. It’s a joy being part of this vibrant community.

Judy Pinger: I'm Judy Pinger and running for a third term as a member-at-large.  I've been a homeowner in Cambridge Woods for 29 years and love the natural beauty of our landscape and the diverse residents of our community.  It truly feels like a village.    I'm retired from the Milwaukee Public Library after a long and gratifying career.    I'm originally from Cincinnati but once I relocated  to the East side for Library school, I knew I wanted to make Milwaukee my permanent home.  I enjoy supporting the many CWNA Board sponsored activities such as Chili Fest, the Neighborhood Rummage, Riverkeepers annual river cleanup and the neighborhood potlucks/ice cream social events. I would like to continue to serve in this capacity.

Kyle Swatkowski: I moved to Cambridge Woods in Sept. 2017.  I have twin boys who attend Catholic East Elementary, where I’m also the President of the Home & School Association.  I joined the Board as the Riverkeeper Liaison in 2021, and became a Member at Large in 2023.  Since then, I’ve been sending the neighborhood emails through MailChimp, and recently helped to organize the neighborhood trick or treat.  I guess in some ways you could say I’m the Boards “tech expert”, although I wouldn’t qualify myself as all that tech savvy.  I like being on the board to help facilitate connections between neighbors.  Whether through providing information or helping set up events.

Carly Upmann: I'm Carly Upmann, and I’ve lived in the Cambridge Woods neighborhood since 2023. My fiance and I recently purchased the duplex that we had previously been renting in the neighborhood. We plan to be long-term residents and are excited to put down roots here. We were drawn to this neighborhood for its walkability, character, access to nature, and welcoming feel — it’s the kind of place that instantly feels like home. I am originally from Monroe, WI and came to Milwaukee in 2017 to attend Concordia University Wisconsin. At Concordia, I studied Early Childhood and Special Education while also being involved in various clubs across campus and playing for the women's softball team. After college, I worked as a teacher for several years, which provided me with experiences that taught me the true importance of connection, communication, and community involvement. In anticipation of starting a family and needing more flexibility, I made the career switch into real estate over the last year (many of you probably get my mail!) and I love sharing all of the wonderful qualities of our neighborhood with my friends and clients. I’m running for the CWNA Board because I want to become more involved in our neighborhood, support community events, and help ensure Cambridge Woods continues to be a vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming place to live.
